Villa La Capanna

San Giovanni D’Asso is a charming little village which lies in the heart of the Crete Senese, the unique and spectacular countryside to the south of Siena.

Villa La Capanna is equally unique and provides the visitor with the perfect blend of classic Tuscan style, fabulous views and contact with Italian life and luxury.

La Capanna is located in the heart of San Giovanni D'asso, bordering on the garden of Villa La Consuma.

It is also possible to rent La Capanna together with La Consuma which is next door and can be linked by a garden gate. 

The private entrance of the house leads out onto a terrace furnished with a table, chairs and a large umbrella, where also a little prive swimming pool is located (6x3 square metres), maintained by a gardener.
Going down the two short stairs (4 steps) you reach an open space with sunbeds and deckchairs and with an antique well (XIVth century) wich is shut with a grating.

Garden

The house has its own private entrance
which leads out onto a terrace furnished
with a table, chairs and a large umbrella,
with your own private swimming pool
(6x3 square meters),
maintained by the gardener.

At the end of this area is a bathroom with a shower/changing room, which serves the swimming pool. Everywhere you can enjoy the beautiful view of the valley.

 

Accommodations

Villa La Capanna Sleeps : 6 Ground Floor: Entering the house from the terrace you’ll find yourself in a wide room, which is divided in several areas: a sitting room with a big XVI th century fireplace, a dining area and a kitchen equipped with fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and a little oven. First Floor: An iron and woodden staircase leads you to the first floor, where are located one double bed room, one king size (210 x 180 cm) bed room, one twin-bedded, sharing two bathrooms with shower. All the bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans. The house is also provided with independent central heating and fireplace. La Capanna can be rented together with La Consuma which is next door linked by a garden gate.

· Maid service at 10 euros per hour
· Extra sets of towels
· Damage deposit: 250 euros to be paid in cash upon arrival and to be refunded less any unpaid expenses upon departure

Check out: not later than 10 am on Saturday

Location

San Giovanni D'Asso is a small village with approximately 300 inhabitants. The villa is situated in the upper part of the village - the "Borghetto", directly opposite the ancient castle, the origins of which date back to the XIIth century, and which is now the seat of the municipal authorities.

The territory of San Giovanni includes the hamlets of Montisi, Lucignano d'Asso, Monterongriffoli, Vergelle and Pieve a Salti. San Giovanni was originally the seat of rural Etruscan settlements, an area contested by both the Bishops of Arezzo and Siena, and it was sack

We have spent the last two weeks here at LA CAPANNA Enjoying a scenic and restful break-the villa was all we hoped for-with great character and charm together with all the modern conveniences we have come to espect. My family and I have loved San Giovanni d’Asso and la Capanna!.....S.G.d’A was a wonderful location for daily excursions to Siena,Le Crete, Chianti,Val d’Orcia and even Florence.
