From the time we booked our reservations through our stay at Villa Cicolina, the staff and management were nothing but friendly, courteous and eager to make our trip as easy and memorable as possible. We were not disappointed! The Villa is on an absolutely breathtaking hillside in Tuscany with incredible views and great access to surrounding towns. Our room (Il Balcone) was huge, beautifully decorated in antiques, quiet and with beautiful views. We eat our dinner almost every night in the Villa's restaurant which had some of the best Italian food we've ever had. Everything was made fresh daily and was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend taking a cooking lesson at the Villa if you would like to learn how to make the specialties served in the restaurant. It was a highlight of our trip! The hotel manager even arranged for a rental car to be brought to the villa and picked up on our departure to save us the inconvenience of having to travel to pick one up. The hotel provides all the extras you would expect from a fine hotel: bath robes, slippers, hair dryer, internet access, turndown service, etc. We cannot say enough about how perfect our vacation here was. Do not believe the reviews that have negative comments about this place. We have stayed in some of the world's most expensive and exclusive hotels and our stay here was one of the most memorable we've ever had. Many thanks to the staff of the Villa for all they did to make our visit so wonderful! If you are looking for an authentic Tuscan experience, peace and relaxation, a place to get away from it all, visit Villa Cicolina. You won't regret it!!

Beautyful property, very beautyful rooms, nice " in the sky " pool. Restaurant can be better, but it was alright. Will return again, but eat somewhere in Montepulciano.

I visited this villa with two girlfriends and we fell in love with the place and people. This place was the highlight of our 2 week Italy trip. The grounds were beautiful and everything was in bloom and lush like out of a painting. The countryside view of rolling hills was spectacular. The best part of the villa is the wonderful staff. They were so inviting and bent over backwards to help us. We took cooking classes with Franca which were awesome and fun( we laughed so much). I would highly recommend this place to anyone and already have to many friends. Thank you Vincente, Franca, Alessandro, Stephana, and the manager for a great time and making our trip special. We can't wait to come again.

We stayed here in July 2006. 2 adults and 1 child 8yrs. We stayed in the main house on the ground floor in the "balcony suite" - which was a large living room with balcony (and daughters bed) and large bedroom for us plus bathroom ( a bit gloomy from poor lighting) The food here was good and taken in the garden each night. The wine list was pretty good. The highlight of this hotel is its gardens and pool (see photos). Whilst this hotel is not the best it is very quaint and we found it relaxing. It is very close to Motepulciano. Antonio is not a snob - he's just a typically arrogant Italian male with a dry sense of humour. We liked him - he even took us into the cellar and showed us the Etruscan tomb under the villa. The hotel is nicely laid out - all the rooms are individual and spacious. It's great to spend an afternoon reading a book by the pool.

We stayed at the Villa Cicolina for 4 nights in July 2006 whilst on our honeymoon and loved our stay. Our room on the top floor (Cortona) was superb - very large and airy and beautifully furnished. The gardens are set in an olive grove, with seats and tables dotted around giving a secluded, private feel to wherever you settle with your book. The infinity pool has amazing views over the Tuscan scenery. We found the staff to be very helpful, Antonio was very chatty and friendly spending hours with us discussing food and giving us recipes (or 'reseeps' as he insisted they were called!) We took a cookery course at the villa during our stay, which we would highly revcommend. The chef is an amazingly skilled woman. She taught us to cook some great dishes and dinners during our stay were the best we had during our 3 week tour of Italy. The buffet breakfast was a large selection of fresh baking and fruits with local cheeses and sliced meats. Our stay at Cicolina was the highlight of our honeymoon in Italy, we would love to return for our first anniversary.
