This ancient villa, named Casanova, was once part of a larger farm and winery in the magnificent estate of Tenuta di Petrolo.
According to Casanova’s history, this place seems to be surrounded by a seductive and particular atmosphere.
The Villa is perfectly located to appreciate the nature beauties offered by the countryside of Tuscany.
Situated among the green olive groves, active vineyards and oak woods, Villa Casanova is the right place to feel with every sense the power of the simple and peaceful life, typical of the Italian means.
The estate has, as its landmark, the Tower of Galatrona.
The Tower's foundation dates back to the Etruscan and Romans populations.
“Galatrona” is also the name of one of the best wines you can find in Tenuta di Petrolo together with “Torrione” (big tower). This charming estate is, in fact, famous all over the world for its delicious Gods’ nectar that you cannot miss!
The villa sits in quiet and expansive surroundings with beautiful unspoiled views of undulating olive groves; the well kept park, with centenarian old plants, is a perfect place to relax, to walk or for your kids to play.
This Tuscan country house is totally secluded and lies on a hill offering absolute peace and quiet with spectacular views of the surrounding hills and villages.
The large garden has a brand new pool with deckchairs and umbrellas overlooking the gorgeous valley of Val d'Ambra.
A barbecue and a large outdoor table, totally immersed in lovely flavourful greens, beckon to enjoy the sound of silence.
Mercatale Valdarno, historical village in walking distance, with restaurants, shops and the local market for fresh food and veggies is really easy to achieve.

 Villa Casanova, in its 5 bedrooms with fully furnished bathrooms (4 of them en-suite), can comfortably accommodate 10 people.
The villa has been tastefully renovated and modernized with sensitivity to the historical qualities of the estate, preserving the characteristic elements to maintain the original charm and spirit and offering a unique combination of authentic Italian country atmosphere and proximity to the historical and cultural delights of Tuscany.
The house is completely furnished: on one hand with many personal touches made by the owner: you can find typical Italian artwork and knick knacks which make this farmhouse seem like “home sweet home”, on the other hand with many comfortable and useful modern technologies, such as dish dishwasher or washing machine, satellite TV, CD player and screens on windows.
GROUND FLOOR:
From the main entrance the large living room has French doors which open in a straight line out to the outdoor garden and picnic area.
There is a satellite TV and an open fireplace, perfect to relax with a glass of the famous Chianti wine.
- The double bedroom, with fixed queen size beds and en-suite bathroom, has a direct door to the garden, assertively…romantic!
- 1 twin bedroom that can be converted into double with en-suite bathroom
FIRST FLOOR:
A fully equipped kitchen with fireplace is the perfect setting to make quick pasta for the whole family or to grill.
The spacious and comfortable dining room, facing the valley, offers a stunning view, so charming to enchant!
Then there are:
- 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom;
- 1 twin bedroom (that can be converted into double) with en-suite bathroom
- 1 twin bedroom with bathroom
The bathrooms are furnished with bathtub, bidet, WC and sink, except for one that has a shower and serves one of the twin bedrooms.
Each bathroom has a different colour and all of them are very spacious.

The villa is about 0,5 km's away from the village of Mercatale with restaurants, shops and the local market for fresh food and veggies the Autostrada A1 Milan/Rome about 11 km.
Florence is 55 km away, Siena 40 km and Arezzo 30 km.
