Photogallery
Villa Belpoggio was built in
17th century, on top of the remains of a
14th century watch-tower.
This period house is a classic example of a
country summer residence designed for the Florentine aristocracy.
A small
oratory was constructed next to the Villa at the end of
1700 while a lower building and the
granary date back to
19th century.
Because of the historical and artistic value of the Villa, in 1990 the Ministry of the Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts, designated the estate as one of its official period properties.
The current owners have restored the Villa of Belpoggio with loving care in order to revive the past beauty of this elegant country residence.
Their desire is to have a place where a limited number of guests can enjoy peace, nature and warm Tuscan hospitality.
Belvedere
The "Belvedere" refers to the panoramic beauty of the estate:
a wonderful broad vista sweeps from the Villa through the Arno Valley up to the slopes of the Chianti mountains.
The shades colours of vineyards, olive groves and oak-woods, make you think about the mysterious landscapes of Leonardo da Vinci and Piero della Francesca paintings.
Next to the Villa a swimming pool has been built of an old basin, which was once used to collect water for the fields.
While enjoying a hydromassage, the surrounding wonderful Tuscan landscape will astound you.
The Villa

The ground floor of the Villa, classical, simple and cozy at the same time, is always available to our guests.
The living room is furnished with antiques.
The
fireplace corner is a comfortable place to meet and converse.
The
small library is an invitation to discover a "different" Tuscany, beautiful, genuine and as yet unspoiled.
In the reception room, another corner has been prepared with literature to assist in the study and organization of itineraries.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the old cellars - dug in the rock, with the traditional red brick vault - where once the olive oil and the wine were kept - or outside, in a cozy corner of the garden, among the "Belvedere" and the small church. A bountiful buffet of local fresh food is prepared every morning.

Testimonials
The place was a gem. I would recomend it to anyone who wished to stay in this area. However it is somewhat out of the main tourist area. I was surprised that the towels in the room were not changed even once during the 4 day stay nor the used tea/coffee repaced.

Warm and welcoming attitude. Helpful in getting to the room and explaining the amenities. Made very special because of the manager, Maria. Helped us in every way possible, including directions, arranging guides, and meeting all our needs. Very well conducted. Maria went over the items on the bill, including charges incurred during our stay. Then she printed out the final copy and submitted our charge card. A home away from home. Pool, food, wine, and general ambience was five star. Views are incredible. A pearl in Tuscany.

The entire staff was there to greet us and give us a tour of the beautiful villa. We had a large group of 7 couples and each and everyone of us had a fantastic holiday! Maria and her staff were extremely attentive to all our needs. She made day trip tours, dinner reservations, and gave us directions to all our activities. It is a little piece of paradise. The villa, the people and the grounds.

Very helpful and could answer all of our questions. We stayed 5 nights and never recieved a change of towels, I'm not sure if that is included in the price and I'm sure they would have been provided if we asked. quick and efficient! More personal service than you could ever recieve at a hotel!!! A typical tuscan get away with exceptional service, the best breakfast we had in the three weeks we were in italy. Beautiful surroundings, and very peaceful. Definately need a car to reach destinations and restaurants.

Belpoggio is completely remodeled. Our room was great and the bathroom was even better. Maria could not have been a better source of imformation of the area. Great restaurants in Loro and the surrounding area. We took some cooking classes that Maria suggested. The whole trip was excellent. Much better than expected!
